No per-camera subscription
Recording is local. Adding a camera adds a camera — not another monthly line item on a bill that grows every year.
Footage when you need it
Scrub to a timestamp, clip it, export it. Most owners pull their own footage for a police report without phoning us at all.

Is there a monthly fee per camera?
No. UniFi Protect records locally to a network video recorder you own. Remote viewing is included. That is a meaningful difference from subscription camera services that bill per camera, per month, forever.
How long is footage kept?
It depends on the storage you choose, the number of cameras and the resolution. We size the recorder for the retention you actually want — commonly 30 days — and tell you the number before you buy.
Can I watch the cameras from my phone?
Yes, on iOS, Android, desktop and browser. You can scrub back through recorded footage, export a clip and hand it to police or an insurer without calling us.
Can you integrate cameras we already own?
In many cases yes. Third-party ONVIF and RTSP cameras — including PTZ models — can often be brought into the same system, which saves replacing hardware that still works.
Will the cameras slow down our internet?
Not if the network is built properly. Recording happens locally over the LAN, and the cameras sit on their own VLAN so the video traffic never competes with your phone calls.
